Statement of Ethical Practice for Use of Research Findings

The purpose of the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Research Cooperative is three fold:

  1. Conduct multiple ongoing research projects on OBHRC issues.
  2. Increase accessibility to wilderness & adventure therapy research.
  3. Inform the public and professionals outside of OBHIC on the true value of wilderness and adventure therapy.

All studies should be reported and cited using American Psychological Association (APA) citation guidelines (see http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/06/ for example).  No publications can be reproduced without permission.  Also, any material referenced from this website should link to the website and not remove material and store on external servers.

It is critical that any research and evaluation reported on this website and subsequent publications involves ONLY those OBH programs mentioned in each study (programs participants for each study are noted below).  In no way do the results reported in any study make claim to the effectiveness of outdoor behavioral healthcare programs beyond the scope of each study, the study program participants, and the findings reported herein.
