Strategic Plan

In the Fall of 2010, OBHRC members developed a three year strategic plan to guide the actions of the group through 2013. The plan calls for action in three key areas:

Marketing and Education

OBHRC will work to increase public and professional access to its research through an improved website, increased presence in a wider array of professional conferences, and increased number of qualified research scientists on the OBHRC research team.

Collaborations Between Researchers and Clinicians

OBHRC researchers will produce white papers, case studies, refereed journal articles, conference presentations, and technical reports, as well as strive to make their work easily accessible and clinically relevant to Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare professionals. OBHRC will make research scientists available to assist member organizations investigate program-specific questions, and all OBHRC members will be encouraged to participate in the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) research database. OBHRC member clinicians will work with OBHRC research scientists to create common best practices for member organizations.

Increase Research Funding

Through a partnership with the University of New Hampshire, OBHRC will work to increase funding for research through federal grant programs in addition to actively increasing internal funding by increasing membership through recruiting and production of quality research.
